WHO WE ARE

A school wellbeing partner with real-world experience

The Resilient School is part of the wider Resilient ecosystem, created to support children, young people, families, schools and communities with practical resilience and wellbeing tools.

Our work is grounded in the reality of school life. We understand that staff are often holding far more than lessons, targets and timetables. They are supporting anxiety, dysregulation, attendance difficulties, friendship issues, family pressures and behaviour that can feel complex and overwhelming.

We help schools respond with confidence, compassion and practical strategies that can be used immediately.

FOUNDER

Led by Ashley Costello

The Resilient School is led by Ashley Costello, psychotherapist, author, TEDx speaker and founder of The Resilient Kid.

Ashley works directly with children, young people, parents and schools, bringing together therapeutic insight, brain-smart strategies and a deeply practical understanding of what helps children feel safe enough to learn, connect and grow.

Her approach is warm, relatable and grounded. She is passionate about helping staff feel equipped rather than overwhelmed, and helping schools build cultures where resilience is not just taught, but lived.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Resilience is built through relationships, repetition and safe adults

We believe schools are one of the most powerful places to build resilience — not through one-off assemblies or posters on the wall, but through the daily interactions, language, boundaries and relationships that shape a child’s emotional world.

Behaviour is communication

We help staff look beyond the behaviour and understand what a child may be trying to tell us through their actions.

Staff need support too

Emotionally safe schools start with adults who feel supported, regulated and confident in their own responses.

Practical tools matter

Staff need strategies that work in real classrooms, not just theory that sounds good on a training slide.

Culture beats crisis response

We support schools to build consistent, whole-school approaches that help prevent escalation before it becomes crisis.

OUR APPROACH

Training that feels safe, useful and immediately relevant

We use brain-smart, trauma-informed and emotionally intelligent frameworks.

We make complex ideas easy for staff to understand and apply.

We support the adults around the child, not just the child in isolation.

We balance compassion with clear boundaries and realistic school systems.

We help staff leave training with tools they can use the same day.

PART OF SOMETHING BIGGER

Connected to The Resilient Hub

The Resilient School sits within The Resilient Hub, bringing together The Resilient Kid, The Resilient Teen, The Resilient People and The Resilient Franchise.

This means schools can access support that connects children, teens, families, staff wellbeing and wider community resilience — all through one trusted ecosystem.
